We Are Water
We Are Water explores how vibration shapes matter across a liquid surface. Field recordings of Pacific Ocean waves are routed through an array of low-frequency speakers and transducers attached to a circular basin, transferring oscillations into the water. As frequencies shift, the surface forms transient patterns that expand, fold, and dissolve within seconds. The sound is distributed across multiple channels, creating an immersive acoustic field that echoes the continual movement of the water.
The installation approaches water as a responsive medium whose behaviour is shaped by vibration and resonance. Within the basin, forces circulate and interfere, giving rise to fleeting configurations that continuously shift and disappear. We Are Water makes these invisible dynamics perceptible, opening a space for reflection on the interconnectedness of sound, matter, and transformation.
